The Fabrication Supervisor at Walker Manufacturing leads the fabrication department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production across a range of fabrication processes. This role provides direct leadership to operators while maintaining ownership of work center performance, including output, quality, and efficiency. The supervisor ensures work orders flow efficiently, monitors performance, and addresses issues that impact flow and quality.
This role has technical ownership and is responsible for the sustainment of the Model 7 and Model 11 hydrostatic transmission product lines. The engineer serves as the primary authority on these systems, supports customer inquiries, and leads the validation and qualification of new vendors for complex machined and cast components. They also work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to support production implementation and improvements.
Responsible for supporting the development of new products and the continuous improvement of existing product lines from concept through full-scale production. This highly hands-on role translates ideas into functional, manufacturable designs that meet Walker’s standards for quality, durability, and performance. Key tasks include component design using CAD tools, building and supporting prototype development, and conducting validation testing of new designs.
Leads the robotic welding department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production across all robotic weld cells. This position provides direct leadership to operators and maintains ownership of work center performance, including output, quality, and efficiency. While a people-first leadership role, the supervisor is expected to have a strong working knowledge of welding processes and robotic welding systems.
Responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring robotic welding equipment to produce high-quality mower components. This role requires a strong welding foundation and the ability to recognize weld quality issues in real time. Operators perform inspections, identify weld defects, and collaborate with leadership or engineering to determine corrective actions.
